7 Best Happy Hour Hot Spots in Baltimore

Ah happy hour. That wonderful after-work tradition that became a large part of American society during Prohibition can really make or break your work week. You could head out for a drink with your co-workers, or meet up with friends that know nothing about your work. Either way, grabbing a drink or a quick bite to eat after a long day at work can help us all unwind.

Some people prefer to wait until Friday to head out for happy hour specials, but don’t forget these bars and restaurants have awesome deals going throughout the week! Why wait for Friday to have a good time? And when you live in a city as great as Baltimore, there’s always a great spot to do so! Here are 7 of the best happy hour hot spots in Baltimore:

#1 Brewer’s Cask

This friendly neighborhood craft beer bar in Federal Hill is the perfect after work stop. Whether you are catching an O’s game or catching up with friends, you can everything you’re looking for in a happy hour here. Brewer’s Cask has 20 rotating draft lines and plenty of house smoked meat option to choose from.

Happy Hour occurs daily from 3:00pm – 7:00pm and includes 3 for $7 drafts.

 

#2 Mahaffey’s Pub

This classic Canton watering hole not only has a variety of rotating drafts and craft bottles, but a cask conditioned beer as well. Yum. Visitors rave not only about the good beer, but the good food as well. Crab cake sliders anyone? And if you really love to try new beers, Mahaffey’s has a club for you! You can sign up for their 100 Beer Club and get your name on the wall when you try 100 of their alternating drinks. Head in on a Monday for an ALL DAY happy hour. Now that can spice up a Monday!

Happy Hour occurs daily from open-7:00pm and includes 3-10oz beers for $6 plus $.75 off ALL drinks.

 

#3 The Brewer’s Art

Want something pretty to look at while you sip on your adult beverage? Try heading to Midtown for a drink at The Brewer’s Art. This part art gallery and part craft beer hub makes for a great spot to relax after punching the clock. The bar is located in a converted home on North Charles Street, further adding to its charm. They even have the upstairs area for you to relax by a fire or peer the street views. The menu is small and focused, with some local and fun combinations.

Happy Hour occurs daily from 4:00pm-7:00pm (all day on Monday) and includes $3.75 house beers.

 

#4 13.5% Wine Bar

If you’re reading this and thinking, “Okay, okay, enough about the good beer spots what about the wine?” Well here you go. This Hampden bar has more than 40 wines by the glass and over 200 by the bottle. They also have a decent selection of beer on tap as well as by the bottle. If you get there early enough you might even be able to snag a comfy leather sofa to enjoy your beverage of choice. They also boast a very impressive menu for your happy hour treats!

Happy Hour occurs Monday through Friday from 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm and includes 50% off food menu.

 

#5 Lobo Fell’s Point

If you’re hankering for some seafood, head on over to Lobo Fell’s Point after work! While happy hour runs from 5pm-7pm every Monday through Friday, each day changes. That means you can come on Tuesday and Friday and enjoy a different special! Who doesn’t need more happy hours in their life? Some daily options include:

  • 2 for $3 select oysters
  • $1 little neck clams
  • $4-$5 snacks 
  • $5 select wine
  • $4 select draught and bottles
  • $5 select cocktails

 

Some great non-seafood options include their delicious selection of cheeses and meats on their charcuterie boards. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it.

Happy Hour occurs Monday through Saturday from 5:00pm – 7:00pm and includes drink specials, oyster and snack specials.

 

#6 Nick’s Fish House
Nick’s Fish House offers the perfect spot for happy hour, especially when Charm City is having good weather. That’s because the deck over the Middle Branch of the Patapsco River offers an amazing water view. If you haven’t guessed by now, Nick’s offers some fantastic seafood as well, including all things crab!  Come here to sit back and grab a drink and maybe an early dinner as you watch the sunset. Nick’s offers a laidback atmosphere you’re sure to enjoy after a long day at work.

Happy Hour occurs Monday through Saturday from 4:00pm – 7:00pm (11:00am-5:00pm on Saturday) and includes 1/2 price select appetizers $1 off all beers, glasses of wine, and well drinks.

 

#7 Papi’s Taco Joint

Last but certainly not least, Papi’s Taco Joint, voted Best Happy Hour by the Baltimore Sun, is one of those bars where it can be hard to find an open seat. They have a well known 3-4-5 happy hour (dubbed “Papi Hour”) including $3 drafts, $4 signature margaritas, sangria, or tequila shots, and $5 seelect anejo tequila shots. You can also get food for these three prices to go along with your delicious beverage.
